MizB at Should Be Reading hosts Musing Mondays. This week’s musing asks…Do you care if the book’s storyline is unrealistic? Will you keep reading, or will you set the book aside?
I'm a stickler when it comes to finishing books. I have a hard time putting books aside, even if I lose interest in the story. Only once in my life did I put a book aside and that was Eat, Pray, Love. I (barely) made it through Italy and once she got to India, I was done.
Oh I can understand with Eat, Pray, Love. I didn't have too much that I could relate with the author except the spiritual study path...I gave it a good review when I finished saying that it made me think things I hadn't thought of before...I will be darned if I can remember what they were now...the more I think about the book the more I didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I didn't even try with that one.

I was just like you, never putting a book down...But after a few not-so-good books, I started letting myself not to finish them.

I don't have a problem with some aspects of the story being 'unrealistic', depending on the genre.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I think, whatever the genre, it is important that people act in a way that seems real. Maybe human nature is the constant.
