Grammy Fashions 2014

I don't usually watch the Grammy's, but for some reason this year I was compelled. Maybe it was because the dresses were so fantastic at the Golden Globes, and I was hoping the trend would spill over to the Grammy's. I have to admit that I wasn't disappointed. Here are my top 3 dresses:

1. Taylor Swift in metal mesh Gucci Premiere. Flawless and stunning. This was a knockout.

2. Colbie Caillat in Ezra Santos. I have never heard of Ezra Santos but I think she looked gorgeous. This dress was fabulous and it fit her perfectly. Sexy and sophisticated.

3. Paris Hilton in white/nude House of Milani. The fact that I'm even mentioning Paris Hilton is stunning enough, but this dress (were it to fit her a bit more snug) would have been as near to perfect as possible. I love this dress coming and going. Another sexy yet elegant look.

SAG Awards Blue Fashion Review

For the first time in a long time, I had a hard time choosing the top three dresses from an awards show. Usually it's because I'm underwhelmed. Last night did not disappoint. There were many top-notch dresses to choose from, and for some reason, all of my choices were blue. Here are my top 3 . . . or 4:

1. Lupita Nyongó wearing turquoise Gucci. This look is just fabulous across the board. I love everything about it.

2. Amy Adams in blue Antonio Berardi. This is old Hollywood in an edgy dress. I love the cut and I love the color.

3. Anna Gunn in navy Monique Lhuillier. This dress is sexy and sophisticated. I think she looks fabulous at 45.

4. Jennifer Garner in navy Max Mara. This might be simple but the belt helps and I love the way she looked. Another fabulous 40-something holding her own against the young newbies.

Golden Globe Awards Fashion Top 3

Ah, the awards season has begun. That means I get to gush over the dresses the starlets donned at each event. Here are my top 3 favorite Golden Globe 2014 gowns:

1. Margot Robbie in a white Grecian Gucci gown. Simply stunning.

2. Kate Beckinsale in a silver gunmental Zuhair Murad. I loved the pattern on this gown.

3. Uma Thurman in sizzling black Atelier Versace. I liked that she's a bigger girl and didn't feel the need to show cleavage. She looks incredibly sophisticated.

Time to Reclaim the House

Starting the year off with a positive post. I'm already beginning to straighten up and put away some of the Christmas decorations. It just seems like there's a ton of dust everywhere, and I'm feeling the need to clean house.

Predictions are for some sort of snow event over the next two days. With the kids going back to school tomorrow, I'm trying to get ahead of the game because I fear they're going to be home at least one more day on account of the weather. I need to reclaim my house. Things need to be put away and boys need to go to school.

Here's to a cleaner, more organized 2014!
