Kavyen at Reading Between Pages hosts Theme Thursday. Anyone can participate. The rules are simple:
•A theme will be posted each week
•Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
•Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
•It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word).
This week's theme is FACIAL PARTS (eyes, ears, nose, lips etc).
"Helen turned her head slowly and surveyed her daughter with eyes as impassive as those of an animal long in captivity."
~p. 160, "The Debut" by Anita Brookner

Well it was obviously worth the search. Great extract. I haven't read any Anita Brookner but she's an author that is always hanging in the wings. I'll get to one of her books one day!
