This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
My family has been a regular Walgreens customer for more than 10 years. I don't know what we would do without their 24 hour availability and drive-thru window. They truly have been a life saver.
Unfortunately, there have been recent changes with respect to patients covered by an Express Scripts pharmacy plan. These patients can no longer receive their medications from Walgreens pharmacies. Walgreens and Express Scripts were unable to reach a contract agreement that would continue to allow Walgreens to be part of Express Scripts' pharmacy provider network. Now patients are forced to find a different in-network pharmacy and, possibly, pay more for their medications. Not only are these patients inconvenienced, their drug costs are increasing.
This even affects our military. Tricare is the health and prescription program that covers our military personnel. In addition, Tricare is a client of Express Scripts. Hasn't our military and their families sacrificed enough? Do they need to compromise their health care as well?
In an effort to assist those affected by Express Scripts pharmacy changes, patients are being offered a special discount for annual membership with the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. During the month of January, individuals can join for only $5 and families for $10.
If you or someone you know is no longer able to use Walgreens because they have an Express Scripts plan, contact your local media to express your unhappiness about the situation. If the squeaky wheel gets oiled, bringing light to this situation may help fix the problem.
Why not show your support and be kept informed with important updates by following Walgreens on Twitter or Walgreens on Facebook. I know I will.
