Mom has been in ICU since Sunday night. Apparently she was bleeding internally and lost 2/3 of her blood. She required 4 pints to stabilize her. So far, so good.
They suspect, but still aren't sure, if the problem is from the colon cancer or some other source. They won't know until a CT scan and/or colonoscopy is performed, which should be today. I suspect it's the cancer. As her physician said, when you know there's a horse in the room why look for a zebra.
I saw her last night during evening visiting hours, and she looked much better and was pretty feisty. That, in itself, is a sense of relief. I can only pray at this point that things turn out for the best and that she's spared as much as pain and discomfort as possible.
Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. I'll be thinking of you all.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your mom. Thats especially tough as you're also balancing children. I know and empathize.
