Aloha Friday

Kailani at An Island Life started Aloha Friday. Want to play along? I ask a question, you answer the question in the comments. You can also ask your own question on your blog and link up on Kailani's site. Here's my question:

Where were you on the morning of September 11, 2001?

My answer: Just home the day before from my honeymoon, watching the horror unfold from a kneeling position on my bedroom floor.

  1. At work where my co-workers and I gathered in a conference room and watched the horror unfold on a small TV screen.

  2. I was teaching third graders when it happened. Parents were coming to pick up their kids from class (since many worked in DC) early and I remember going down to the office to figure out what was going on.

  3. I was at the table packing scrapbook orders to be mailed and had the tv on in the background. When they broke in with news that a plane had hit the first tower, I didn't really pay much attention. I was just thinking it was an accident and figured it would be on the news later. I didn't pay much attention until the second tower was hit. Then I couldn't stop watching.

  4. I was asleep because I worked from 3pm till midnight. The secretary from our church called a little after the first plane crashed to see if we had heard. I turned on the tv and my husband and I couldn't believe what we were seeing. Later I called work to see if they were closing (I worked for a government contracted business and was worried they had targeted us too0. They didn't close, but they had the PA system on the news all night so we could follow what was going on.
