Bye Bye Cookie Monster

I don't know about you but after the holidays and yesterday's Super Bowl party, I'm ready to lose some weight. Hubs and I were talking about changing our eating habits and getting serious about what we put in our mouths. I think once I scoffed down 3 spare ribs in 20 seconds flat yesterday, I decided it's definitely time to make some changes.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do, but my goal is to lose 5 pounds. That's the short-term goal anyway. If I can figure out how to lose 5 pounds with 2 little cookie-loving boys in the house, I figure I can attempt to lose 5 more after that. The boys are my problem, or at least they'll get the short end of the stick for this conversation. They LOVE their snacks. I try to give them healthy stuff when I can, but this winter has been so cold, snowy and miserable, I've been making cookies for them when there's nothing else to do. The fact that I love cookies too doesn't really help either. I think I need to kick Cookie Monster to the curb and come up with some new ideas on what to make when it's miserable outside.

  2. Did you say, "Cookies?" Oh, I can totally relate to your situation. My husband and son are big cookie eaters. In fact, while my hubby & I were dating, I often called him, "My Cookie Monster". I have a stuffed toy of Cookie Monster which he bought me.

Anyhow, I'm with you on cutting back and burning away some extra calories. I've been riding my exercise bike and lifting weights to build muscle. I have been off the serious exercise circuit for too long. I must warn you, though, I'm 40-something and would like to invite you to keep up with me. =D

Following you back. Thanks for visiting my blog last week! Hope you'll come again. ~Cathy
