10 Reasons I Wish I Had a Girl

I love my two boys to pieces, but there is that never-ending longing for a daughter, a companion. It's all about superheroes and trains in my house. A little Barbie or Dora wouldn't be so bad every now and then. Here are my reasons why I wish I had a girl:
  1. The clothes
  2. The hair
  3. Princess parties
  4. They pee sitting down
  5. Pinks and purples to brighten up the house
  6. Mani/Pedi days
  7. A little female solidarity
  8. Dance recitals and gymnastics
  9. Having a conversation that includes details and emotion
  10. Adding a year to my life expectancy (having a daughter adds 1, son subtracts 5)

  1. I don't know about that life expectancy thing - I think it should change when they get older. lol.

My daughter is only two and already she is a little handful. It is fun to play with girly things though, and as of right now she is watching her some Dora (to which I know all the songs to). My sister has two boys too, and she says the same things to me all the time! :)

  2. I think I'm one of the few moms of boys who does not feel like I am missing out - yet. I think it's going to hit me when they are adults and married or in love with people who think I'm a pain in the rear!!

  3. Hi Debbie -

Thanks for the sweet comment and follow on my blog. I just wanted to let you know that I am returning the favor and following you back. :)

Aww, a little girl! I am currently debating on when to have my second child, and after having a boy, I just couldn't even imagine what life would be like with a girl! lol. But your list kind of makes me hope that (someday) we might be blessed with a little princess :)

I look forward to hearing/reading more from you!

  4. Awww this is sweet... I consider myself very fortunate in having 2 boys and 1 girl. When we found out #3 was on the way after having my son and daughter, we were PRAYING for a boy though! lol My girl has more attitude at 4 than I know what to do with and is more emotional than the rest of us put together. But I can't deny I love all those things on your list ;) Go for #3 and think pink ;)

  5. I have one of each and have to say that stepping on Barbie shoes hurt just as much as Legos.

  6. I already see the wild, uber-boy tendencies in my 9-month-old boy! We've got a lot of trains, trucks and knee scabs in our future.

On the bright side-at least you don't have to deal with a 13-year-old daughter. The horror.

  7. Hello from a new follower! I have 2 daughters and loooong for a baby boy, but I must admit it is very nice having a female vibe in the house. And my girls are very sensitive to how I'm feeling, whenever we are planning something the oldest says, "Well, really, what do YOU want to do Mom?" :) Both are special. Hope you can visit me at randomasamother.blogspot.com.
